Treatment, When Combined with Low Level Laser Therapy Can Lead
to Less Time, Discomfort and Overall Cost of Treatment
A
2004 randomized study was conducted on eleven patients over a
two month period to determine if the application of the low level
laser treatment using a GaAlAs diode laser in conjunction with
regular orthodontic treatment would result in faster tooth movement.
Left and right maxillary premolars were extracted and a fixed
orthodontic appliance was installed to close the space. Half the
patients received low laser light therapy treatment and the other
half did not.
